I am bumping this shit up.... there are 651 members on this site who all claim they love HIP HOP and yet only one reply to this thread.... I am calling yall out.... so once again how did it happen to you?????

reasonable doubt from jay-z did it for me. my mans played that all day long. finally i realized that the music moved me

ive been lovin hip hop since i was 5 when my sister used to play snoop and warren g. them niggas made me love hip hop. the person that sucked me in to the hip hop world was eminem because he just dont give a fucc. and tupac too, but it was after he died was when i really started loving his music. I also love to dance so now days any nigga with a tight ass beat got my rhythm, but a far as lyrics go i gotta say tupac, nas, and biggie. G-unit also got some tight ass lyrics.

everyday someone new gets sucked in

I mean I am pretty new to the scene and I am FUCKING LOVEING IT!!!! I could live without HIP HOP in my life. Its what I live. Its what I breath, eat, and sleep. I am HIP HOP!

imagine dying just cuz someone took the hip hop away? that would be on the news.

I got into mainstream rap for a while in middle school.. but I just recently started liking real hip hop after a phase of liking strictly rock. My first exposure to underground was Aesop Rock's "Daylight" and my first exposure to Old school was Kurtis Blow's "The Breaks." I discovered underground hip hop through the internet but I first heard old school a few years back on gta vice city. Now I like almost every type of music there is in today's modern world, including hip hop.

hip hop came bout 2 me from a really early age coz all ma olders sis wer in2 it n cousins n stuff n dey used 2 go c eminem in concert n listen 2 tupac n stuff so it used 2 rub off on me, but i really started gettin in2 da hole channel u uk scene bout 3 years ago n ive even started 2 do ma own rappin now!

you rap in public missyd?

I see Eminem was what lured many people to hip hop. My story is similar to most of you. I started listening to hip hop ages ago, but really started loving it only bout 3 or 4 years ago when I heard bout em. Soon after that I began paying more atention to da lyrics of all da music I heard and I found hip hop to be much more deep, real and relevant to me. Hip hop changed me and helped me in my life more than any other kind of music I had ever heard. Everyone said exactly what was on their mind and there was no space fo sugar coated shit. It was from that moment I was hooked. I then started messing round wit my friends and I began writing my own raps, nothing serious. Was da best experience becoming part of da hip hop community. What I love most about hip hop is that all fans from no matter where and no matter what color or age gots something in common and are almos like part of one crew/group or whatever y'all wanna call it. Anyways let me shut my preachin ass up. Probly borin y'all. 8O Hip hop truly Signed "D"

i think eminem is the only mc out there who canspit amazing lyrics in a totally commercial style. no one else has done it to this day as well as him nas ad a go but got no way near em hes the biggest selling rapper by quite a bit i think

Nas and Jay-Z are pretty commercial but have made many good albums. It all depends on the mood you in too.

not on the same scale though eminem has had three and now maybe four platinum albums eminem show was shit, still sold millions what ever he does sells=just lose it nas has been consistently popular with people who love hiphop, but couldnt break the pop scene, part from that annoyin one with the kids singing i know i can.

I like Nas... can't stand Jay-Z... used to like eminem but his new stuff bores me.
